Day 3

Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru: (50 miles – Approx. 1 hr)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

We’ll be up early because that’s the best way to enjoy a safari! Also, it’s a beautiful time for a morning boat ride, taking in the varied birdlife as we glide past the hippos on this Rift Valley lake.

Then we’re off to nearby Crescent Island Sanctuary for a guided walking safari. Here, you can spot pelicans and cormorants on the shore and stroll by gently grazing buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, and many others. Should you wish, there is also an optional visit to Hell’s Gate National Park, by bicycle. We’ll bike or stroll here amongst grazing animals and steaming geysers – truly a remarkable spot! Then it’s a short drive to Lake Nakuru, a beautiful park featuring the lake itself, waterfalls, acacia forests, and big, rocky escarpments. The wildlife here is an unusual mix of flamingoes, big predators and endangered black and white rhinos. We’ll be looking for lion, zebra, giraffe, monkey, baboon and more.

Dinner, overnight at your pre-booked camp/Lodge

Day 4

Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (185 miles – Approx. 6 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

We’re at a perfect spot for an early morning drive for game and bird watching. Look for pelicans, kingfishers, ostriches, herons, and eagles around the lake. We’ll proceed through the Rift Valley on our way to our final park, Masai Mara National Reserve. We should arrive in time for an afternoon game drive. The park is an inviting mix of rolling hills, golden savannah and Africa’s iconic acacia trees sprinkled throughout. It also features one of the richest and densest populations of wildlife, especially predators anywhere. Be on the lookout for lion, leopard, cheetah, and down by the rivers, crocodiles.

Dinner, overnight at your pre-booked camp/Lodge

Day 5

FULL DAY – MASAI MARA

The variety and numbers of wildlife in this park are unequaled and should you be here during the months of July through October, those numbers greatly increase. This is the season of the Great Migration – a yearly parade of up to 2 million migrating wildebeest and zebra swarming through the park in search of fresh grasses on which they survive. Streaming in over the Mara River from the Serengeti, the hordes of wildlife must brave the crocodiles lying in wait and the many predators in the park such as lion, leopard and cheetah. We’ll travel down to the river and enjoy a picnic lunch amongst these many grazers, looking to spot some of the hunters lurking in the bush. Our day will be filled with unlimited game drives – explore as much or as little as you wish.

Another opportunity on the reserve is an optional visit with the local Maasai people. You can see how they live, their customs and ceremonies and perhaps pick up a beaded souvenir of your time here. For a truly unforgettable experience, try the optional early morning balloon safari over the park. There is nothing like watching the dawn break over the reserve, lighting up the acacia trees and seeing wildlife stirring into the new day. Your guide will be happy to arrange either of these special experiences.

Dinner, overnight at your pre-booked camp/Lodge

Day 6

MASAI MARA – NAIROBI (165 miles – Approx. 5-6 hrs)
