Nairobi To The Tsavo East & Tsavo West National Parks!
Explore the Tsavo sister parks, Kenya’s largest, oldest, and certainly amongst the finest of the great wildlife reserves to explore on your African Safari.
Itinerary:
Day 1
Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park: (200 miles: 5 Hrs drive)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
06:00 hrs. – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Nairobi airport. We’ll head out in our customized tourist vehicle for Tsavo East on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway also known as the early explorer’s route. Ever hear of Tsavo lions? The adult males are famous for their appearance – they’re missing the usual mane. They are also historically fierce, as told by folklore from a hundred years past. We’ll be on the “hunt” for them in Tsavo East national park as well as other large and small predators throughout the vastness of this rugged reserve.
Overnight at your pre-booked lodge/ tented camp.
Day 2
TSAVO EAST – WEST (38 miles – Approx. 1 hr)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
When in Tsavo East, we rise with the birds, that is, before the sun. Our early morning game drive will afford us exquisite views of the park emerging in the dawning light. In this special atmosphere, we will observe the animals as they come into the new day. Breakfast follows at our lodge or tented camp and then we’re off again on another game drive to discover buffalo, impala, eland and some of the park’s 500 species of birds. But soon it’s time to journey to the other Tsavo, Tsavo West. The short drive there will give us more opportunities to spot wildlife.
The look and feel of this park is different – more color, more foliage and some very green surprises like Mzima Springs. The crystal waters feeding this haven and the palm shrouded banks impart the feeling of a lush oasis. We’ll look for hippo, crocodile, exotic fish and migratory birdlife. The park also is home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, protecting at least 80 of these endangered animals. We’ll drive through and perhaps spot some of the magnificent rhinos.
Overnight at your pre-booked lodge/ tented camp.
Day 3
Tsavo East National Park – Nairobi: (200 miles: 5 Hrs. drive)
It’s another early morning for safari-goers! Let’s add more animal sightings to our list. A delicious safari breakfast follows and then one more bonus game drive over the striking plains of Tsavo West. Look for bush baby, hartebeest, impala, and scampering in the park’s many acacia trees – monkeys! But now it’s time to exit the park on our way back to Nairobi for drop off
