As I arrived at Nairobi National Park which is within the capital city of Nairobi with two Americans who I was guiding today, I could tell that they were interested in this adventure. I enjoy people who are engaged with me or my other guides, I mean they have flown over from America to see what Kenya has to offer them. Luckily, they are never disappointed, Nairobi National Park although not our largest park at about 30,000 acres it is full of wonders every day. Today, as we enter the park, around our first bend, I spot a tall and graceful giraffe. We have three types of giraffes in Kenya the Masai , the reticulated giraffe and the Rothschild. In this park we only have Masai giraffes.
There are many giraffes here but this is the first one and it is special. My guests are so thrilled and in awe of this creature quietly eating from an acacia tree which are the official trees of Kenya. These animals are majestic and I have seen thousands on my safaris but they never fail to take my breath away. Today is no different, he is about thirty feet from us, I slowly turn off the truck, and it is silent, a quiet you never hear in the real world, it is world of the giraffes and the lions and the water Buffaloes and it is peaceful. This is how my typical day starts.
